Public Comments
•Peter Urbach updated the Board on what was happening at the library; John Walden Library Director will be leaving on October 3rd. The library formed a search committee, have 5 candidates that the trustees will be interviewing and hopefully a decision will be made mid-October. The Trustees have evaluated a number of prospective architects and construction managers for the new building. The architect, Tenant Wallace from Manchester and the construction manager, Trumbell-Nelson was selected.
•John Augustine wondered if the Board could shed some light on why the brush pile at the transfer station would be unavailable for a month. Chairman Gallup stated that the town doesn’t burn the burn anymore; it is trucked to the Springfield Power Plant, who uses it for fuel to generate electricity there. The plant is upgrading this process and has cease delivery from us for approximately a month. John Augustine asked what will happen if it drags on longer and Chairman Gallup said we would review and come up with a solution if it becomes necessary.
